Report: Delmon Young Threatens to Kill Valet, Calls Him "Latin Piece of Shit"

Delmon Young flipped out on a valet in Miami.

Free agent outfielder Delmon Young was arrested on one charge of battery last night in Miami following a dustup with a valet at a nightclub attached to his hotel. Young, who spent the last two years with the Baltimore Orioles, reportedly became irate with the valet when he would not let him into a nightclub at the Viceroy Hotel. Young grabbed the valet by the neck and threatened to kill him, alternately calling him a "stupid Cuban" and a "Latin piece of shit."

Andy Slater of 940-AM WINZ has the full set of details:

"Stupid Cuban, open the f--king door," Young allegedly told the victim. After repeatedly telling Young he couldn't open the door because the club was closed, Young said "I'm gonna f--king kill you, you Latin piece of sh-t" and then reached over the valet podium and grabbed the victim around his neck with both hands, strangling him, the police report states. The victim said he was able to break away from Young's hands. Young then fled but was later met by police at his residence, which is also at the Viceroy. Police say Young answered the door naked from his waist down.

So … yeah. When officers questioned him about the incident, Young played it off like he had no idea what happened, but the victim identified him despite the lack of pants. Slater further reports that once he was placed under arrest, Young told the officer, "I'll slap you in the face with money you f--king Cuban."

Young has a history of violent outbursts like this going back to his minor league days, when he threw his bat at an umpire following an ejection. More recently, when he was with the Phillies in 2012, he was arrested in New York City for tackling a panhandler wearing a yarmulke and yelling, "You bunch of fucking Jews!"

Young was released on bond Monday afternoon.

Update: via HardBallTalk, you can read the police report below. In describing the interaction at Young's condo, the officer described him as "belligerent" and "unsteady on his feet and sp[eaking] with slurred speech."
