Early this morning NZT, a Kiwi golfer held a coaching clinic at a course named after the world's most controversial billionaire.Normally, that wouldn't warrant much of a story. A top golfer at a top course - who cares, right?Yet when the golfer is Lydia Ko - the women's world no 1 - and the course is Trump National in New Jersey; named for its previous owner Donald J Trump - who, you may have heard is the President of the United States - the game changes. In addition to the PR opportunity that the coaching clinics represented for the LPGA, Ko was at Trump National to help build hype for the US Women's Open - which will be held there in July.

Guess who turned up while Ko was on the greens? Not The Donald himself, but the next best thing; sons Eric and Donald Jr, who - the New Zealand Herald has reported - spent time on the greens with the Kiwi 20-year-old.It is unknown what Ko and the Trump brothers talked about, but the New Zealand golfer said she'd be open to a round with their unpopular old man - whose favorability poll recently dipped beyond 40 per cent - when talking with Golf.com in March."I don't know much about politics, so I don't really have a huge say on it," Ko said."It'd be an honor, I guess, to play with the president. I haven't had that call yet so I wouldn't know exactly."Reckon she'll get the call? That'll definitely be worth a follow-up story.
