Workhorse's Languid Video Will Give You a Warm Case of Buzz

Erupting lava and wild horses racing across prairies are strangely calming.

An elderly family friend who lived outside Adelaide would tell of a drink that involved taking two gulps from the neck of a Coopers Stout and then refilling the bottle with port wine. He swore that sipping this by the fire would help fend off even the coldest of Barossa Valley nights.

I'm reminded of the old guy and his drink when listening to Workhorse's "Horses", the long ballad that closes out the Adelaide band's No Sun cassette, for it's a song that has a warm and sweet darkness that leaves you relaxed and calm.

The six-piece, made up on all stat cast of local acts including Wireheads, Fair Maiden, Hydromedusa, Swimming, Rule of Thirds, Theta, Old Mate and Bruff Superior, have just released a video for the track and it's as languid as vocalist Harriet Fraser-Barbour' smooth voice.

Old footage of erupting lava and wild horses racing across prairies, contrasted with random shots of band members filmed at various Adelaide locations, adds a quiet charm to the song's instrumentation.

'No Sun' is available now through Tenth Court.
