Tens of thousands of Spaniards took to the streets of Madrid in protest against government plans to curtail women's rights to abortion.

Last year, the ruling People's party approved legislation that would block women from having terminations, except in cases of rape or medical necessity.

Since 2010, women in Spain have had the right to abortion until the 14th week of pregnancy, so protesters, understandably, are pretty angry about the introduction of the regressive law.

One demonstrator told The Guardian: "We are here to protest against a government that wants to take us back to the times of Franco. We are stepping backwards with this law."

The People's party has said that its election promise of scaling back abortion law must be fulfilled, but polls show between 70 and 80 percent of Spaniards are against the bill, putting the party at odds with its electorate.

Over Eager All Clears

On Saturday, a day after authorities told thousands of villagers that it was safe to return to their homes, Indonesia's Mount Sinabung erupted, killing 16 people.

Some 14,000 residents returned to the area around the volcano on Friday after being told that volcanic activity was decreasing, and around 16,000 further evacuees are still being housed in cramped tents, schools and public buildings.

Among the dead were four students and their teacher, who were visiting the volcano to watch the eruptions up close.

A small number of people with burns have been rescued from the area, but authorities fear the death toll will rise.

Greece's far-right political party say they will form a new outfit called National Dawn if they are banned from taking part in local and European elections.

The party is under an ongoing investigation into criminal activity, and authorities could prevent them from participating in polls.

Party spokesman Ilias Kasidiaris told thousands of supporters in Athens: "Patriots will have a party to vote for in the next election if [authorities] go ahead with the coup to ban Golden Dawn. Whatever happens, we will contest the elections. Greek nationalists who have not been involved in criminal organisations – who have no criminal record – have founded a new patriotic party, the National Dawn."

Despite the fact party leader Nikos Michaloliakos stands accused of running a paramilitary operation that attacked migrants, leftists and gay people, surveys show that the Golden Dawn is still Greece's third most popular political party.

A McDonalds employee in Pittsburgh has been charged with selling heroin in Happy Meals.

Shanna Dennis, a 26-year-old local, allegedly had her clients go through the drive-thru and say, "I'd like a toy," before driving to the window, paying and collecting a Happy Meal box containing heroin.

After being found with 10 bags of the drug in a Happy Meal box and 50 more bags on her person, Dennis – while being led away in handcuffs – insisted to reporters that she had done nothing wrong.
