Dustin Diamond, the actor who played the Jughead-esque character Screech on Saved by the Bell, was sentenced to four months in prison after a barroom fight in Wisconsin on Christmas Day ended with Diamond drawing a knife and stabbing another man during the brawl, NBC News reported.

Witnesses from the bar said that the fight started when Diamond's girlfriend, Amanda Schutz, shoved one woman and grabbed another's wrist. Diamond, who was carrying a roughly four-inch switchblade, allegedly took it out to ward people off, and then "accidentally stabbed a man," according to his testimony.

The actor was convicted earlier this month for two misdemeanor counts related to the bar fight. Diamond first told police he stabbed someone with a pen, then later admitted he had a knife but didn't stab anyone, and finally admitted he had used it in the fight.

After the Wisconsin judge sentenced Bayside High's favorite nerd to four months in prison, he left the courtroom quiet and teary-eyed. He is scheduled to start his sentence on Sunday.

At least this means we won't have to worry about another Dustin Diamond sex tape leak this summer.
