PREMIERE: Enter Casper's World of Mystery in the Video for "Know Better"

The Toronto rapper wouldn't say much in his interview, but he appears to be letting the music speak for itself with this latest hit.

Casper is not a man of many words. When we met up to speak about the success of his video for “Dope Boy” he wasn’t exactly forthcoming with information. The original video came out in early February of this year and has already racked up a quarter of a million views, all without any major co signs. When asked what he thinks led to the success of “Dope Boy,” Casper says “I have no clue. Social media or something.” He won’t tell me where he got his alias, where he records his music, or what happened to his bandaged fingers, which he says came as a result his house being set on fire—but won’t say much else.

Here’s what we do know: he was born ins 1996, making him 19 years old. He’s been rapping for seven years, prior to which he played point guard in Jarvis Collegiate in Toronto. What we do know is that his new video for “Know Better (Downtown Toronto)” was filmed around the Queen Street portion of the city and it’s full of sleepy boasts and half-harmonized hooks. It sounds like the sort of music you’d hear being blasted loudly from a very expensive car in the summer. The only fact that we managed to get Casper to tell us is that he plans on releasing two projects by 2016.
