Premiere: Listen to Mysterious Toronto Bedroom Popper Henoheno’s New Track ‘Peas & Carrots’

If it reminds us of early Beck and Eric’s Trip, you know that it’s going to be pretty good.

Feel that light mist on your skin? That’s the air of mystery that comes with “Peas & Carrots”, the new track from Toronto based artist Henoheno.

It seems that Henoheno keeps to himself but his excellent piece of lo-fi, freak folk reminds us of 1994; the year Beck dropped Mellow Gold and fellow Canadians Eric’s Trip released Forever Again into the world.

Taken from his album Canada due April 14 on UK label Fox Food Records, the beautifully warped freak folk hinges on lo-fi drums, spidery guitar lines and Henoheno’s affecting vocals. This one is definitely going to have the word ‘bedroom’ in all its reviews.

Following last years I Made These Songs Before I Moved, the new album focuses on dealing with suicidal friends. Yes, this is sad pop. Sad but beautiful pop.

‘Canada’ can be pre-ordered digitally and on cassette through Fox Food Records.
