Today Only, Every Donation To Seattle's Vera Project Is Doubled!

Seattle's Vera Project is the country's best DIY all ages venue, and if you donate today, every cent is doubled by the Seattle Foundation!

Seattle's Vera Project is the country's best all-ages DIY venue, and this is why. Crazy huge bands play there all the time, like Deerhoof, Titus Andronicus, and Dan Deacon, but it's also a place where your dingleberry band from the suburbs can get a show. And silkscreen its shirts. And record its first album. And put its art on the walls.

You can basically do anything you want there, if you want to do it. The best part about it is that, unlike DIY venues in every other city in the country, it's in no danger of being shut down, and you don't have to worry about cops. The city actually likes it. Can you believe that? In America?

Vera is 10 years old and it's based off another place called Vera, in Groningen, Netherlands. The Dutch Vera has been around for even longer, and it receives most of it's funding through the government, because in Europe they spend on the arts. Unfortunately, Seattle's Vera has to hardcore hustle for their money, but today they got a break: for one day only, every cent you donate will be doubled by this place called the Seattle Foundation. Vera is a national example of what DIY all ages venues could and should look like, but it won't stay open without your support.
