A lot can change in a year.

You may be familiar with Clairmont The Second from when we dubbed him a post-Chance the Rapper artist from Toronto last year and he's been spending his time since maturing as an artist and a person, finally emerging with a new project with A Mixtape by Clairmont the Second. This new mixtape features not only his best rapping to date, but a message that's poignant without being preachy, bringing him still closer to Chance the Rapper in function, if not form. Take his rapping over "Everyday Is A Good Day," where he spends the first two verses describing the banal dates that a teenager would go on, before using the third to introduce a message and a gun. "Making this mixtape was a lot different from making my Project II album. A lot has happened in the world and in my personal life that affected the way I wrote this mixtape and the topics I speak about on it," says Clairmont. "A lot can change in a year."
