UCLA Seals Win With Amazing Interception at One-Yard Line

UCLA hangs on to beat Cal 36-34 thanks to spectacular interception at the one-yard line.

UCLA beat Cal 36-34 and sealed the win on a spectacular interception in a tight corner at the one-yard line and the sideline. For some reason, even though Cal only needed a field goal to win the game, the Bears decided to go for it all on second-and-seven from the UCLA 36 with a bomb down the sideline into a very crowded patch of turf. UCLA's Marcus Rios made a great play just to get his finger tips on the ball and somehow managed to get possession and one foot in before spilling out of bounds.

The play was reviewed and upheld and the only reason we know this is because Matt Millen—who was convinced there was no control on the play, until he wasn't convinced anymore—was a lip reader for the CIA, apparently. Though it was functioning when the ref announced the review, his microphone stopped working when it was time to announce the ruling. He tried a couple times to get the mic to work, but it was no use. The entire stadium, including the coaches, had no idea what was going on and Matt Millen did. That's a fucked up situation.
