Syrian rebels, backed by the Turkish military, have captured the outskirts of the ISIS-held city of al-Bab in northern Syria. The Syrian government is advancing on al-Bab from the south, in "one of the most complex battlefields" of the conflict. – Reuters

Refugees Returned
Lawyers for asylum seekers in Australia's offshore detention centre in Papua New Guinea say that the government is removing men in preparation for deportation. The lawyers expressed concern that the refugees are being returned to their country of origin before their assessment is resolved. – ABC
