Crate Expectations: Marco Bailey

MB Elektronics and MBR Limited imprint owner dusts off some favourites.
Like most people, DJs and producers have specific songs tied to events throughout their lives. In Crate Expectations, we extract a playlist from their memories to tell their story. This week's subject: Marco Bailey.

THUMP: What's the first song you ever loved?
Marco: The first song I loved was from 1970. It was Deep Purple's "Child in Time."

What are the first two songs you ever mixed together?
"Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson and "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life" by Indeep and Rappers Delight.

What song have you had on repeat in the last month?
It would probably be my own tracks much like the rest of my colleagues are doing. Seems normal to push our own tracks! Here is my latest EP on MBR Limited called Wildfires.

Which track of your own do you love the most?

"Grolzham"

"She Leaves"

What track of your own do you hate the most?
I don't 'hate' my tracks. I'm proud of the work I do and I don't release anything I don't truly love!

What track are you most excited to drop in a set?
My all time classic favourite is "Acid Eiffel" by Laurent Garnier and Shazz. And of course all my own tracks.

What's your favourite track that you wish worked in a set?
My track, "She is a Player".

What's the last song you want to hear before the lights go on?
A lot! Honestly, so many great new tracks are constantly coming out all the time. We are lucky! Right now I'm a big fan of David August's "Epikur" but I'm sure if you ask in a few weeks, I'll say something new.
