Timofey Mozgov: "In Russia We Ride Bears"

No context necessary.

In the locker room James Jones was talking about how his contract doesn't let him ride horses. Timofey Mozgov: "In Russia we ride bears"
— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) December 5, 2015

Dave McMenamin provided the context but, knowing what we do about Cavaliers big man Timofey Mozgov and Russia, we could read a Mozgov quote like "In Russia we ride bears," ruminate on it for a hard second, and accept it as a true and accurate statement regardless of how it came up in conversation.

Like, this guy has definitely ridden a bear. At the very least he knows two to three people who have ridden bears. I suppose it helps to know why Mozgov was talking about riding bears, but not really. James Jones can't ride horses because of his contract. Fine, whatever. But I would just as easily believe Mozgov gave this information totally unprompted, and it just so happened to coincide with an interview with James Jones about the anti-equine language in his contract. I may even believe that scenario more, in fact.

Good for him not caving during his own contract negotiations, too.
