Florida College Pulls Off Three-Man Alley-Oop, Pig Man Rejoices

Florida College pulled off a three-man alley-oop and things got a little weird in the crowd.

Ordinarily, an alley-oop consists of two people: the alley-er and the oop-er. It's all very technical, but that's where the term comes from. This clip presents a little chaos to the alley-oop world by introducing a second alley-er. The first pass comes from the wing and maybe it was a little off target, so the second pass, from in front of the rim, goes back to Anthony Allen trailing the play who finishes off the oop.

When you go to a basketball game, you don't really expect to see an alley-oop. The possibility that it could happen is certainly in the back of your mind, and it's a real possibility, but you don't (or shouldn't, anyway) expect to see one just because you bought a ticket to a basketball game. So, when you go to a basketball game and your team executes a three-man alley-oop, shit gets weird.

I would like to talk about the man in green. There are plenty of great reactions in this shot—there's a guy at the bottom of the frame who looks like he may be looking at a long-dead relative, or the Virgin Mother, or the dude in the middle of the screen above the ref who looks like he might be shitting himself into orbit—but the man in green is who we need to talk about.

This man in green was so moved by what he saw that it compelled him to pull his adjustable cap that he was wearing backwards down over his face, and then back up it again, catching his nose on the way up so that he now looks like a pig man. He is otherwise reacting exactly how people react to crazy things—hands immediately go up on his head, an amazed looked crosses his face, and he maybe yells some unintelligible guttural sounds—except for the pig man component.

Shit gets a little weird on a three-man alley-oop.
