Austin, Texas is a poorly conceived, hipster city in denial where barbecue is overpriced, native Republicans insult you for being from anywhere but the USA, espresso is wood-fired for no apparent reason, and cabs only exist on a conceptual level. VICE wrote about why Austin is the worst city ever back in June, but I did find one redeeming feature during my last visit: breakfast tacos (pictured below). Fast forward several months and I've found one and only one additional reason to like Austin.

Tim Gunter is a 24-year old hip-hop fan whose first introduction to electronic music was Daft Punk's Homework album. He won the 2013 Red Bull Thre3style U Championship and his approach to bass music would make even the Red Rocks blush.
