If hearing the word Kitsuné makes you think of oversized neon headphones, designer cupcakes, and group sex in your best friends' college dorm room, I'm very sure you're not alone. But if you've been following their residency here at THUMP, then you already know that Kitsune is done just being your favorite 00s blog house dynasty. Their enterprise has developed in seamless step with their audience in a way more fitting of a couture fashion house than a record label.Today's jumpoff is a mix of grown and sexy club tracks from the freshest face on the Kitsune roster, James Mullholland of Techniques. Definitely the new guard of his label, Techniques' debut single, "Switch," sounds like what would happen if The Faint played a Boiler Room set. The mix burns slowly, with a string of colorful house cuts and a nuanced sense of space and sound design. The "Show Me Love" M1 synth on Andre Crom's "New Day" is the healthiest I've heard in a while. And the bassline on Huxley's Bellywedge is probably not advisable to play around elderly folks or pregnant women.Tracklist:Techniques - SwitchOliver Schories - Hear Myself vs. Techniques - The Way We AreMy Favourite Robot - Looking for Frost (Juan Maclean Remix)Peppermint J - Sink 'Em Low (Maximiljan Remix)Techniques - I Want You (Contagious Enthusiasm Mix)Ejecta - Neva 2 FarAndrew Crom - New DayKrizz Luco - LoveHuxley - BellywedgeJack Dixon - You Won't Let Me (Synkro Remix)
