Rafaël Rozendaal's GIF Series Celebrates "Happy Mondays"

The GIF series, commissioned for the British festival Abandon Normal Devices (AND), is themed around success.

Creator Rafaël Rozendaal is one of today’s most well-known net artists, and his sensitive and ironic approach to internet-based art challenges the need to visit physical exhibition spaces in order to appreciate art. He was recently commissioned by the Abandon Normal Devices (AND) festival to create a series of ten animated GIFs, called Happy Mondays, that have been released every Monday for the past ten weeks surrounding the festival. The GIFs were inspired by “Success,” the festival’s theme this year, and were paired with inspirational quotes from some of the world’s most successful people.
