Woolfy Transports You to a Scene From a French Novel

Wistful souls rejoice.

From Permanent Vacation to DFA to Future Classic, LA producer Simon James (WoolfY) has made his way through the most reputable record labels on three continents and it doesn't take long on his SoundCloud to understand why. His latest EP on Future Classic, City Lights, blends elements of disco, house, new wave, organic instrumentals, and a certain laid back California flair together masterfully. "17" stood out to me because it transported me straight to a modern interpretation of a scene from Albert Camus' L'Etranger. As bizarre as this concept may be, there's no escaping the fact that my vision of a perfect afternoon is a strong cigarette, a white coffee, and Simon's catalogue on repeat.

Bonus: I had to go back and pull Simon's collaboration with Projections from the archives because it's 10 minutes of pure brilliance.
