Two weeks ago, Eric Prydz fan James Lillo captured the attention and the hearts of the dance music community. In a Reddit post, he revealed his terminal cancer diagnosis and said that, despite buying tickets for Prydz's EPIC 5.0 show next year, he might not live to see his "favorite producer in the world" one last time.
The story made it to Prydz, whose team offered to fly Lillo out to LA for a personal show, with all ticket sales going to a charity of his choice. Sadly, as Prydz himself informed the community, Lillo passed away on Monday. But with his family's blessing, the show will go on—twice—in his name. "His battle and story have affected me deeply, and now more than ever I want to play the event to raise money for the charity that James has chosen, and honor his memory," he wrote.
The two charity shows will take place on December 17 and 18 at Sound Nightclub in Hollywood, with all ticket sales going toward Lillo's chosen charity, the Cancer Research Institute (CRI). Tickets for the first night are already sold out, but are still available for the second night. For those who can't make it but would still like to donate, a page has been set up on the CRI website in Lillo's name.
