Listen to The Magician's Remix of the New Javeon Single, "Intoxicated"

Dancefloor-focused R&B, with a Balearic beat to boot.

The Magician

We Americans may have invented soul—but the Brits have had no problem making it their own. Javeon is at the forefront of a new, dancefloor-focused R&B that brings bold, confident songwriting together with the swing and jack of house music at its finest. Thanks to breakout stars like Disclosure, Jessie Ware, and Sampha, this British new wave has begun to lap at the shores of American radio, and Javeon's party-centric approach to soulful pop is a welcome addition.

Signed to PMR Records, our man J now shares a label with the Disclosure boys and Ware, not to mention Julio Bashmore and T. Williams, among others. Today we've got a remix of his single "Intoxicated" from smooth-operating disco sensation The Magician, who knows how to put that Balearic beat where it belongs. Backed by a bassline-heavy remix from DJ Q as well, the release showcases two very different takes on one young dude's smooth scoops.

Javeon's single "Intoxicated" is out Sunday April 13 on PMR, and you can pre-order here.
