The head of a Russian supporters' group has claimed that French police want to deport almost 50 Russia fans on their way to Lille.

Alexander Shprygin told Reuters that police had stopped a busload of fans on Tuesday morning. The bus was intercepted in Cannes, on its way to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy where Russia are due to play Slovakia on Wednesday afternoon.

"They want to deport almost 50 people including women who did not take part in anything," Shprygin told Reuters over the phone.

"The police are making up for their mistakes three days ago. We are in a bus in Cannes and we have been blocked in by riot police. We are not going anywhere for the time being, and are waiting for the consul."

On Monday, the chief prosecutor of Marseille claimed that anything up to 150 "highly trained" Russian hooligans had travelled to Euro 2016.

At least 35 people have been injured in Marseille alone over the past few days. One England fan is still in a critical condition in hospital, after he was reportedly ambushed by Russian fans and beaten with an iron bar.
