TEDxBrooklyn: Building A Better Brooklyn

Catch the live stream on Friday, December 2nd from 9AM-6PM.

This Friday is the second annual TEDxBrooklyn event, celebrating the socially-intertwined, interconnectivity of the Brooklyn community in the tradition of TED‘s global, regional talk programs dedicated to “ideas worth spreading.” This year’s theme is “redefining better,” and the diverse line-up of speakers will be looking at how interaction through social networking has reshaped our culture and relationships.

The sold-out event will be held at Brooklyn Bowl, but if you didn’t get a ticket you can view the Livestream from 9am to 6pm at TEDxBrooklyn.com. Or if you’re in Brooklyn, local watering holes The Knitting Factory and 61 Local will be hosting screenings, along with the Brooklyn Brainery education center.

Our very own Global Editor Julia Kaganskiy and Creative Director Ciel Hunter are speaking at 2:45 PM, so be sure to tune in. They’ll be discussing the birth of The Creators Project and how the initiative aims to provide a new kind of media platform and support system for creators of all kinds.

Other speakers include award-winning author Ruth Ozeki, Etsy CEO Chad Dickerson and CEO of the Department of Motivated Vehicles Jullien Gordon among many other esteemed guests (view the entire program guide here). There will also be performances by Eclectic Method and Body Language.
