Those wild pranksters, Lulz Security, famous for their attacks on Sony and the US Senate, took down the CIA website this evening after clearly having had enough of Twitter user Quadrapodacone implying the group was without the cajones to pull off such a feat.

Looks like Lulz had the last laugh, at least until the CIA website came back online. That being said, the increase in frequency and severity of recent hack attacks should be a reminder about the danger of online shenanigans: as hackers get smarter and their groups get bigger, we’re not much more prepared for a more serious online attack. The lulz are all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
