Come Watch Our Latest NZ Documentary, 'Lost Boys of Taranaki'

Special screening in Auckland this Sunday.

VICE NZ is releasing our new documentary, Lost Boys of Taranaki: Going Bush With New Zealand’s Youth Offenders. If you’re based in Auckland, you can come along to a special screening and panel discussion at Academy Theatre on Sunday, 5 pm. RSVP to the Facebook event here.

In this episode of our Zealandia series, we explore the dark underbelly of rural New Zealand, meeting a group of 14 and 15-year-olds living in the shadow of Mt Taranaki. At home, on the streets and in the wilderness, we get to know the boys as real people, not just statistics. We also observe the relationships that form between the boys and their mentors, including Taranaki native Todd Williams who served jail time himself and is determined the teens don’t make the same mistakes he did.

After the screening, there will be a panel discussion on New Zealand's youth justice system.

The event is free. To guarantee a spot, get there early: Academy Cinemas, 44 Lorne Street, Auckland.
