Panda to Sochi: Day 8

Romania did it‘s best to stop our sports-session. Have a look what happened to the Panda-Crew!

Romania. Sibiu, also called Hermannstadt, is a little Village in Transylvania. I checked the Eastern European VICE crew to help me out with some locals. So they passed me over to Silviu, a long haired dude, who told me the best quotes on the trip so far. He was totally chilled with everything though he only brought me bad news about the weather conditions for stunts in Sibiu and for our drive to Bukarest. He was always smiling a little bit and having a cigarette in the corner of his mouth. To me, he was kind of a Romanian Lucky Luke!

He is having a little Daltons army, the skate and BMX boys of Romania. After they screwed up one of their skatewheels for us by doing old obstacles we found (e.g. an old chair on the street) we had to give them some goodies for their effort!

We all have been trying hard to find a dry spot, to jump over our Fiat Panda with a BMX. Martin, on of the BMX dudes in Romania drove us from one spot to the another and he tried really hard but the weather was simply too bad. The whole skate crew was very helpful and warm hearted. We just wished, the climate change wouldn’t be so fucked up. A few days ago the Sibiu citizens kept wearing T-Shirts only. So the climate change is not only relevant to Australians tennis games but also to Sibius skate scene.

Today we also felt the hard part of a roadtrip. We are sitting for hours in our beloved vehicle and already know the best gas station snacks on the road. So we started to drift on every opportunity we can get. The simple life of a road trip you could say.

When we left Sibiu we just couldn’t resist to visit the origin of Bram Stoker‘s fairy tale. We drove all the way to a little city called Brasov and went to Dracula‘s castle in Bran. Instead of Dracula we only met the security guard and he had golden teeth instead of vampire sucking sharp teeth. So off we were to a Dracula restaurant, having lemon salat and weird stuff like this. Kind of a disappointment this Dracula stop over.

But there was dog creature in front of the castle, which was really weird somehow but that was maybe because of our gas station snack leftovers …

So we went back on the road to Bucarest. The streets were icey and the trees on the road were bending down because of the heavy snow they had to carry. We also bend down to our next hotel bed-room and say hello to our new stop: Bucarest!
