Space Shuttle Endeavour's Sci-Fi Close Up

A couple of nights ago, astronauts on the International Space Station were able to capture these incredible long exposure photographs of the youngest craft in the shuttle fleet.

At 2:35 AM, the (Star Trek-loving) crew of Space Shuttle Endeavour touched down at Kennedy Space Center for one last time. A couple of nights ago, astronauts on the International Space Station were able to capture these incredible long exposure photographs of the youngest craft in the shuttle fleet, as the whole contraption raced around the Earth at 17,500 miles per hour, or 90 minutes per orbit. A speed this fast is easiest to comprehend perhaps when the entire Earth looks like a blur outside your window.
