GOALIE FIGHT!!

That should be enough to get you to watch this oddly anti-climactic hockey video. What started as a normal ECHL game between the Quad City Mallards and the Cincinnati Cyclones on Wednesday turned into a full-on hockey brawl. I mean gloves flying everywhere, fists of fury. All that good stuff that hockey tells you is absolutely necessary for the sport.

Eventually, the goalies get involved. Actually, a goalie starts the whole thing as Quad City's Adam Vay takes down down Cincinnati's Brandon McNally for a hard hit on his teammate. Naturally, this instigates a bigger brouhaha, and Vay can't get enough. He skates out to mid-ice to meet a ready and willing Michael Houser.

And … GOALIE FIGHT!

Wait, that's it? One weak left hand and Houser goes down.

What Houser might not have known is that Vay does mixed martial arts in his spare time. That's not a goalie, that's a weapon.

"Somebody hit our defenseman hard behind the net and Vay just went after him," Quad City head coach Terry Ruskowski said. "I don't like the situation but you have to have some sort of spirit or jump and everybody is flat right now."

At least Vay is kind enough to help Houser back up. Those hockey players are so pleasant.
