Watch the Greatest Bat Flip Ever

Did the bat ever come down? We may never know for sure.

In baseball, bat flips are an act of beauty. They are mysterious, care free, and controversial. They defy gravity, challenging the theory that what goes up, must come down. After watching the heavenly bat flip by a high school standout on an infinite loop, VICE Sports had to stop and question everything we've ever learned about physics, reason, and life. Below is the real life cyber debate that has abruptly ceased all production and progress at vice sports dot com. To protect the identity of our staff during these troubling times, we've used very serious code names (except for Jorge because he wants the world to know).

There is a moment of silence as we all convince ourselves to believe that the bat never came down, that it is in a better place. But not everyone can accept the phenomena, and so Jorge uses his years of reporting experience to investigate:

But we also know we can't believe everything we see. Photoshop is the root of all trust issues and we, as serious journalists, refuse to be tricked by the government's lies. We begin to question our own intelligence.

Who does this bat belong to? Where did it come from? Did it fall from the sky? Did it… did it come out of the dugout on it's own to search for its wooden brethren?

Alas, it appears we are not alone.

The bat may still be flipping. He may still be walking. We may never stop questioning.
