Georgia Special Teams Coach Injures Player With Celebratory Head Slap

Georgia special teams coach Mike Ekeler injured his own player.

After a defensive stop to force a punt in Georgia's game against Auburn, UGA's inside linebackers and special teams coach Mike Ekeler was a little too pumped up on the sidelines. As he went hopping along, he gave Rico McGraw a slap across the helmet—as we so often and inexplicably see—and it seemed to daze McGraw. He went down to his knees and was slow to get back to his feet.

He got checked out by medical staff and made his was back to the bench where he still seemed a little banged up, but was standing and walking around. He was presumably cleared of any injuries, head or otherwise, because he is back in the game now.
