Giancarlo Stanton Destroys Baseball, Fan Makes Bare-Handed Catch

Giancarlo Stanton continues to hit mammoth home runs and this time a fan made a great bare-handed catch on it.

Three days after leaving the yard in Los Angeles, Giancarlo Stanton continued his Sherman-esque march through baseballs this afternoon in Miami with a huge blast into the second deck in center field, above the blacked-out batter's eye. Maybe it's because this happened in Miami and I've achieved purity of consciousness, but Stanton's swing is somehow effortless and brutalizing at the same time; you feel like you're watching Gary Sheffield impersonate Ken Griffey, Jr'.'s swing when you watch him get into one like this.

Giancarlo Stanton's last home run traveled 475 feet. That's his 3rd HR of 465+ feet in the last 5 days!

Good lord. Stanton had two more homers yesterday, including one that disappeared into the camera well above the 418 sign in center and just below where today's landed. Also notable is the fan's catch out in center field. He was positioned at the very edge of the second deck and made a great effort to reach over the railing and pull in the ball with one hand. He played it pretty cool at first, but when cameras found him later, he seemed to be in a fair amount of pain from the catch.
