Francis and The Lights make beautiful music. He's responsible for "Karaoke", the stand-out track from Drake's debut record Thank Me Later. As well as producing for other artists, he also makes his own music and has a new EP out on Good Years, the same label that brought us musical beauties Banks and Lil Silva. It's as enigmatic as it is lonely, the sound of tugging at heartstrings that have worn thin, or a snatched glance at a new-found stranger on the street. Francis and The Lights don't make contemporary R&B, they write contemporary forlorn odes to the beautiful heartbreak of life.
