Listen to a New EP from PAWNS: Punk for Burned Out Goth People

Let's get moody, punx.

PAWNS is a New York punk band started by Richard Gage Allison and Noel Mateus in an attempt to break away from the usual punk and hardcore sound they were used to playing in previous bands. And their new seven-inch may as well have been found buried in some burnt out goth dude’s record collection in the 80s.

Recorded and engineered by Ben Greenberg (The Men, Uniform), the record draws influence from bands ranging from the Dead Kennedys to Bauhaus. Or, like, from Killing Joke to Sisters of Mercy.

Look, we don’t know really, just listen to it. You figure out who they remind you of. What are we, a music blog? Wait, yes. We are a music blog. Do you wanna work for us?

Their record release show is being put on by Nothing Changes and will take place on Wednesday August 6, in the dark and foggy dungeon of Home Sweet Home, a known weirdo bar in Lower Manhattan.
