Who Is Diveliner?

This LA artist's track "Catwalk" is a banquet of sound.

The internet may operate like a modern day wild west, but there are still a few rules. Like, y'know, deleting your browsing history and leaving positive feedback whenever you purchase something from eBay. Housekeeping shit, basically. Perhaps the most important rule though is to never give members of the public your email address, because doing so is basically a prerequisite to welcoming in a tidal wave of passive-aggressive emails from strangers who have yet to grasp the proper use of apostrophes. Which is to say, if you're a music journalist, then you must absolutely never ever post your email address on Twitter unless you're comfortable with turning your inbox into a dumping ground for the world's most poorly mixed MP3s.

That said, sometimes it's worth stepping into hell. For every three hundred tracks you recieve that sound like the harbingers of doom, there's one beautiful little diamond in the rough—which is where Diveliner comes in. There isn't much information out there on the dude, but what we can tell you is this: he works out of sun-soaked LA, he produces and mixes his tracks himself, and we're premiering the first release from his upcoming project distance 1 below. Titled "Catwalk," the track is a banquet of sound. Listen on as it prances through sub-tropical climates, the darkest corners of Soundcloud-wave rap and gloomy R&B.
