"I'm in Austin and i will play drums in your band tomorrow between 12-5pm. I can't play drums. It'll be bad," Hannibal Buress tweeted from SXSW yesterday. Surely, some adventurous, non-beat dependent band would want to give the comedian a shot. Who would not take this man up on this generous offer?
If you are a Broad City viewer, you don't need to be told how hilarious Hannibal Buress is. Nor do you need to be told why it's not a great idea to fist a tree in Central Park or shit in a shoe or take drugs at Kelly Rippa's house. Buress' deadpan delivery about absolutely nothing at all is the icing on the show's already perfect cake at a dog wedding. So some band had to want to add a touch of Buress into their DNA. Right? Yes. Speedy Ortiz stepped up. The MA band offered the following invite:
hey @hannibalburess yr cordially invited to drum with speedy ortiz at the @pitchfork showcase at @mohawkaustin, 1 pm. or we could get pizza

And well, it happened. Behold.

What he lacks in skill, he makes up for in sheer confidence. "Let's go!" he tells the band. Truly the Ringo Starr of comedy.
#speedyortiz with #hannibalburress trying to figure out his way around the drums! Hilarious #SXSW

If anyone has more video on this, hit us up as we need something to hold us over until the next episode of Broad City. #HannibalInEveryBand2015.
