You'll have noticed that the new series of The Producers is here. If you haven't seen any of it yet, the sure-fire idea is to harangue six of the world's most exciting producers until they agree to come down to the Red Bull Studios in London so that we can focus in on their craft. Why? Because in this brave, new meritocratic world, the real stars of the show are the people who actually make music, not just the guys who swan in at the end to wail all over the top of it. "Oh, what a world!" Cliff Richard would (probably) say. We have come full circle.
