Dominic Raiola Suspended One Game For Stomping On Ego Ferguson

Dominic Raiola earned a one-game suspension for stomping on another player's ankle, his sixth player safety violation since 2010.

The NFL suspended Lions center Dominic Raiola for next week's game against the Packers because he stomped on Ego Ferguson's ankle. It's about as blatant a scumbag move as is possible, and it comes nearly a month after a game against the Patriots where he punched Zack Moore (for which he was fined) and tried to take out Moore's knees at the end of the game (for which he was not fined).

At the time, Raiola said he was upset the Patriots ran up the score, so he decided to keep playing until the game ended. "It's football, let's play football" he said after the game. Yesterday, Raiola was similarly untroubled by his play, saying it was "totally unintentional."

"I was stumbling out of the play and come on now. I'm not out here trying to step on people, whatever. There was no penalty. The ref was right there, he saw it….I apologized, apology accepted, blah, blah, blah, we move on."

Raiola's suspension also took into account that this was his sixth player safety issue since 2010.
