Philly's Made in America is Better Than LA's

Jay-Z steps to Electric Zoo on the East Coast this Labor Day weekend, while giving the West Coast a slightly less dancey festival.

Sure, Los Angeles might have an endless supply of sunlight and avocados, but it's inaugural Made in America festival pales in comparison to the Philadelphia version. If Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti was as much of a hipster as people accuse him of being, the City of Angels would get Kanye instead of Imagine Dragons. No offense. Still, Made in America now has more dance music than ever before.

Los Angeles:
Steve Aoki // Afrojack // Gareth Emery // R3hab // Wolfgang Gartner // Borgore //DVBBS //12th Planet // Yellowclaw // Will Sparks

Philadelphia:
Tiësto // Steve Aoki // Girl Talk // Chromeo // Tommy Trash // Baauer // Gareth Emery // R3hab // 3Lau // Will Sparks //DJ Cassidy // Destructo

Steve Aoki, Gareth Emery and Will Sparks can be found at both festivals. Highlights for LA include hometown boy 12th Planet, Amsterdam twerkers Yellowclaw, and Wolfgang Gartner. Philly can boast Tiësto, Chromeo, Tommy Trash, Baauer, and 3Lau.

On the electronic tip, there's more than enough to tickle your bits at either fest with the edge going to Philadelphia simply for having more electronic acts. Given that the two-day festival is the same weekend as Electric Zoo in nearby New York, it pretty much guarantees that radius clauses mean Tiësto, Aoki and other headliners won't be at Zoo if they're going to Philly… but as anyone who ever thought about Jay-Z booking DVBBS can tell you, anything can happen.
