Former Tennessee Football Player Arrested in 'To Catch a Predator'-Like Sting

Mack Crowder admitted to sending photos of his "sexual organ" to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Former University of Tennessee offensive lineman Mack Crowder was arrested Tuesday evening in Pinellas, Florida, and charged with "four counts of transmission of material harmful to minors and one count of violating Florida's Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act." Officers in the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office posed as a 14-year-old girl, whom Crowder sought out and began a sexual conversation with online, during their recent Operation Wayfarer, which "targets adult males that are seeking out underage females on the internet for the purpose of engaging them in sexual activity."

Crowder began chatting online with the person beginning January 21, and since then had sent four pictures of "his sexual organ" and tried to get the "minor" to perform sexual acts with him. Finally, yesterday, he made plans to meet "her" at an undisclosed location in Pinellas, where he was then taken into custody at around 6:45 PM. He admitted to police that he sent the four pictures, and that he knew that he was speaking to someone he presumed to be a 14-year-old girl.

In Crowder's final season with the Volunteers last fall, he appeared in 11 games, but only started three.
