We went inside the U.S. “den of espionage” Iran turned into a museum

The United States’ broken relationship with Iran dates back to 1979 when the U.S. embassy in Tehran was seized by students after the fall of the U.S.-backed Shah of Iran. Fifty-two American diplomats and citizens were held hostage for 444 days.

Today, the former embassy is maintained as a time capsule of what the Iranian government calls “a den of espionage.” VICE News was given a rare tour of the embassy-turned-museum.
