Errol Morris Talks to Father of Fractals Benoît Mandelbrot About the Beautiful Infinite

Eternity in the simplest of formulas.

Fractals are great at least (at the very least) insofar as all of my doofy wahhh I'm so bad at math friends will totally get down on them. It's one of those perfect bits of the exceedingly formal universe that makes obvious gestures toward metaphysical harmony. But not really metaphysical because fractals are just a way of representing the infinite results of some math equations, a real-life gesture toward real-life infinity.

Errol Morris talked to "father of fractals" Benoit Mandelbrot in 2010, not long before the mathematician's death. IBM, the documentary short's producer, posted the video on YouTube last week.
