Sporting Kansas City Trolls Klinsmann, D'Angelo Russell, and Maybe Kobe on "Jersey Friday"

Solid burns, all around.

Sporting Kansas City has got their troll game locked tight this April Fools' Day with a phenomenal showing for their tradition of "Jersey Friday." I'm not sure how these have gone down in the past, but this week's jerseys are fire enough to sear your retina.

Take, for example, Benny Feilhaber's choice: a Jurgen Klinsmann German national team jersey. Alright, this takes some explaining for the unfamiliar, but basically Feilhaber has come out criticizing USMNT manager Klinsmann for his roster selections (which have excluded Feilhaber, despite his run of fairly impressive play throughout the years). So even a mention of his name at this point is a solid diss from Feilhaber. The choice of a Klinsmann national team jersey has a nice "they chose this guy!?" vibe to it. Hats off.

But maybe the sickest burn is defender Kevin Ellis's custom-made D'Angelo Russell Lakers jersey. The joke's got layers—literally. First of all, Ellis—wearing Russell's traditional No. 1 and with "Rat" scrawled across a piece of paper—is calling him out for dropping a snapchat of Nick Young confessing to his infidelities behind fiancee Iggy Azalea's back. But you could also interpret the thing, which is taped over a Kobe 24 jersey, to be a diss on the Black Mamba himself for being the No. 1 Rat. Kobe, after all, was the original Laker to call out Shaq for paying women hush money. Deep. Complex. Mature.

Then there are a couple of nice jokes: Matt Besler sporting a Clark Griswold Blackhawks jersey from Vacation, Ike Opara fanboying out in Besler's jersey, and one dude (Rubio?) sporting rival Sebastian Giovinco's jersey.
