Seven Players Ejected in Texas-Baylor Scuffle, Remaining Players Have to be Separated After Game

The benches cleared in overtime between Texas and Baylor, resulting in seven ejections.

Near the end of overtime, Texas guard Isaiah Taylor looked to have a steal but Royce O'Neale went diving after the loose ball and, as we've seen recently, things got a little dicey when both players went to the floor. There was some pushing and shoving between the two, Taylor seemed to get a little frustrated with the contact, and then the benches cleared. There were no punches thrown, just the shoving, so the ejections were solely for leaving the bench.

After an interminably long official review, three players for Baylor—John Heard, Ishmail Wainright, and Johnathan Motley—and four players for Texas—Kenfal Yancy, Connor Lammert, Cameron Ridley, and Prince Ibeh—were ejected for their part in the scuffle. Order was restored and the game continued with Texas pulling out a 61-59 win on a floating layup in the last five seconds. After the final horn, things got testy again with the teams gathering around midcourt before cooler heads prevailed again.
