Apparently Ukraine is NOT a Good Place for Dance Festivals This Year After All

The Kazantip festival abandons Crimea for the calmer climes of the Republic of Georgia.

After 24 years on the Crimean peninsula, the summer festival of music and debauchery (we're talking full-on orgy-levels of debauchery) and self-styled "virtual republic" known as Kazantip has been forced to relocate to Anaklia, a resort town in nearby Georgia. Still, the festival's site is advising fans to not book their travel just yet.

Kazantip "President" Nikita recently stated in a THUMP interview that he was "sure that [the Russo-Ukrainian conflict] will not go beyond rhetoric" and that the festival was "absolutely not in danger of cancellation."

Not quite. While your dream of a techno three-way with Crimean twins could be very much alive, the Kazantip website doesn't want to get your hopes up either. "Don't book your journey now," it warns. "Register as a member and stay tuned — we will keep you informed."

The new dates for the festival are August 20 to 30. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale in June but a lineup featuring artists like Seth Troxler, Hot Since 82 and Claude VonStroke, previously posted online, has now been removed.

We can only imagine President Putin's spot on the guest list is unconfirmed.
