Republican Presidential Hopeful Marco Rubio Apparently Likes Dance Music

He can also explain that contemporary music uses samples.

According to a recent poll by The Washington Post and ABC News, Marco Rubio is in third place behind Donald Trump and Ben Carson in the Republican presidential race, at 11%. Another recent poll by Fox News also has him in third behind the same two candidates, tied with Ted Cruz at 14%.

Along with your considerations on his warmongering, ahistorical us-versus-them mentality in regard to extreme generalizations of "radical Islamic terror," you can add to your knowledge of the candidate the fact that he likes dance music, the New Yorker reports. In a new profile on the candidate, they cite an interview with CNN where Rubio praises the way Drake and The Weeknd incorporate dance sounds into their music. "It's a twenty-first-century ability to take music and use it in a way that motivates people," he says.

He also takes the opportunity to explain what sampling is: "Some of it is blended with other sounds that are sampled from recordings that others have had in the past, and you see traditional artists being brought in and their voices used on an electronic soundtrack."

Confirmation on his upcoming collaboration with Jack Ü and Justin Bieber is unknown at this time.
