The latest bit intel we got on David Douglas's forthcoming LP was maddeningly vague; a press release reports that Moon Observations is set to drop "later this year." At least we can console ourselves with the knowledge that Douglas will release one of the tracks on the album, "Higher," next week. The single, which will arrive via Applescal's Atomnation label, comes with three remixes, including one helmed by UK bass music producer Throwing Snow (AKA Ross Tones). On Tones's version of "Higher," piano chords emerge from a fog of rustling ambient noise that buoys raspy male vocals and soon collapses into an onslaught of vicious barbed wire synths.
