FanBoy has an upper hand on the cookie cutter house music lining SoundCloud steams.

FanBoy is yet another long-distance relationship success story. After a chance meet-cute in Montreal, Danny Voicu (aka Kwikfiks) and Patrice Mathieu birthed the moniker FanBoy. Despite a separation that stretches from Toronto to Madrid, the two have raised their offspring right.

Together their mutual respect for the early days of house and techno lays as foundation for FanBoy and is apparent on the self-titled EP. Yet FanBoy still resides in an element of eclecticism, their darkly animated music video for "Give Em" being a testament to that. Voicu and Mathieu's appeal to old and new sounds give them an upper hand on the cookie cutter house music lining SoundCloud steams.

"Our Northmix is a combination of both old and new music, and it contains some of our current favourites," says Fanboy. "This mix covers a spectrum of vibes but stays true to what we like to make and listen to."

As if the generous helping of house and techno on their Northmix wasn't enough, FanBoy is graciously giving out a bootleg remix of "Follow Me" by Aly Us. The track is a free download on their SoundCloud.

FanBoy will perform in Toronto on May 7 for a Rare Beef Records label showcase during Canadian Music Week (CMW). For more information and tickets visit the event Facebook page.
