Jurgen Klinsmann has been relieved of his duties as both head coach of the U.S. Men's National Team and Technical Director, U.S. Soccer announced on Monday. The move comes after the U.S. lost their first two hex matches and generally played like crap for the last year. The program stagnated under Klinsmann and, by the end, he had very few supporters left to defend his position. This is a smart move by U.S. Soccer. Not only did Klinsmann have to go—the performance against Costa Rica in a 4-0 loss strongly suggested Klinsmann had lost the locker room, and U.S. players under his tenure routinely performed much worse for country than for club—but now is the right time to do it. The USMNT doesn't play another meaningful match until March, giving Klinsmann's replacement plenty of time to get his house in order. We'll find out exactly who that is soon enough, but all signs point to Bruce Arena.U.S. Soccer has parted ways with #USMNT Head Coach and Technical Director Jurgen Klinsmann: https://t.co/iCc8DA5RGB
