Earlier today Theresa May arrived at the White House to meet with President Donald Trump, making her the first foreign leader to do so since Trump's inauguration last week.

Yesterday, May addressed Republican congressmen in Philadelphia, saying: "We have the opportunity – indeed, the responsibility – to renew the special relationship for this new age. We have the opportunity to lead together again because the world is passing through a period of change." Kellyanne Conway, counsellor to the president, today described Britain as America's "premier ally", so it would appear Trump and May are on a similar page.

White House representatives said the pair would hold talks and share a working lunch, punctuated by a press conference that's scheduled to start at 6PM GMT, which you can watch live below.
