UFC everywoman Ronda Rousey is stepping into some pretty big high-waisted black pants as she takes over the lead role in the 1989 cult classic Road House. Rousey will take over the role of warrior-poet Dalton, previously played by the late Patrick Swayze. Rousey has had some minor roles in recent films, including The Expendables 3 and Furious 7, but this will be her largest role to date.Road House, if you're unfamiliar, is the story of the roughest and tumbliest bar in Missouri, The Double Deuce, and one man's struggle with an evil local businessman as he tries to make it safe for people tie one on without fear of getting shanked or hit over the head with a barstool. Rousey announced on Instagram that she was going to take part in the project and she's doing so with the blessing of Swayze's widow.Per Rousey's agent, via MMA Fighting:
The film does not yet have a script, but it is scheduled to begin production in 2016.[Variety]Rousey reached out to Swayze's widow, Lisa Nieme, to get approval for the part and received it, Slater said.
