Tom Brady Misses A Touchdown by Inches, Gets Redemption TD with a QB Sneak

An injury-risky move that paid off.

If at first you don't score a quarterback touchdown in the AFC Divisional Playoffs, try, try, try again. Such was the fairly batshit, injury-risky mantra of Tom Brady in today's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

On 2nd and goal, Brady sensed an opening in the pocket, saw the hole, threw a pump fake, and decided to truck his way into the end zone. On the way, though, he was clipped fairly hard at the feet, causing him and the ball to rotate—to the point that it was nearly indecipherable if the ball had made it past the pylon or not.

The ruling on the field was "no good," but it was close enough that Bill Belichick decided to loosen the old red flag from his sock, and give it a toss.

At the very least, the decision provided an awkward player-to-coach "I'm proud of you, son" moment from Brady to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Hugs aside, the ruling stood: no good.

So, in order to preserve his own massive—nay, super-massive—ego, Brady insisted, perhaps ill-advisedly, to take matters into his own hands again, as if the team had an extra Tom Brady to spare.

The decision turned out to be a good one, though, as Brady's reflexes off of a snap were lightning fast. Fool came in with that super-hero leap for the TD he promised himself earlier.
